This Week's Founders: Morgan Calhoun and Walker Hudzik
All Aboard for this week’s feature highlighting the entrepreneurs and innovators who drive The Platform at Greer.
This week, we’re getting on board with sisters Morgan Calhoun and Walker Hudzik of Houni’s Italian Ice. Morgan and Walker were a part of Bootcamp Cohort 11 back in September 2023, and since then have seen nothing but sweet success.
At its core, Houni’s Italian Ice is business all about family, with the goal of serving up happiness and encouragement to everyone who stops by for a sweet treat. Houni’s also perfectly incapsulates the entrepreneurial spirit. With a background in sales and advertising, Morgan met with a mentor who passed on the Italian Ice torch to her in June of 2019. From there, all it took was getting her sister involved and Houni’s Italian Ice was born.
Their first location started on Woodruff Road, and they’ve since expanded to downtown Simpsonville. From there, Houni’s naturally evolved to include events and catering as the next wing of their business. The cherry on top? Houni’s Italian Ice celebrated its 4th birthday back in March, and we’d venture to say that they’ve got many more to come.
