This Week's Founder: Jack Sterling

All Aboard for this week’s feature highlighting the entrepreneurs and innovators who drive The Platform at Greer.

This week, we’re getting on board with former Navy SEAL Jack Sterling of CloudHound. Jack is the Veteran Entrepreneurship Program Manager at Upstate Warrior Solution and was a part of The Platform at Greer’s Bootcamp in June of 2022. Jack says Bootcamp helped CloudHound dial in its focus on B2B security solutions and come up with a great pitch. The pitch was so effective, one of the Bootcamp judges became a client.

Since Jack’s time at Bootcamp, CloudHound has sniffed out problems and provided solutions for many customers. In one case, a ransomware gang targeted a large manufacturing business and nearly shut down all business operations of the Fortune 1000 company. CloudHound sent in a team of incident response pros who did such a great job getting things running again that the company retained CloudHound as a regular extension of its security team.

Another recent CloudHound project involved helping a retail fuel business with dozens of locations save a ton of money. Jack says CloudHound helped that company save nearly $500,000 over five years on their managed security services.

At this point, CloudHound’s primary focus is responding to active cyberattacks, coordinating assessment and penetration testing services, and helping its clients find the right security stack for their needs.
