This Week's Founders: Ryland and JP Rainsford

All Aboard for this week’s feature highlighting the entrepreneurs and innovators who drive The Platform at Greer.

This week, we’re getting on board with Ryland and JP Rainsford of Scout’s Doughnuts. The Rainsfords were a part of Bootcamp Cohort 8 in March of 2023, and since then, their business has grown along with their young family.

When they applied for Bootcamp, the Rainsfords told us Scout’s real product was connection, which they believe typically happens over fabulous food. Ryland and JP thought the Greenville area had a problem: A lack of good, local doughnut shops. Working from the motto that life is #SweeterTogether, Ryland and JP set out to create connection while solving the doughnut dilemma.

Scout’s Doughnuts started as a wholesale operation. The Rainsfords partnered with other entrepreneurs who were willing to sell Scout’s products in their brick-and-mortar spaces. Even before they had their own shop, Scout’s built a following for their many-layered, croissant-style doughnuts with creative toppings and flavors.

Business is booming for Scout’s Doughnuts. The company grew from wholesale operations to a storefront in Greenville. Their next addition was a location in Anderson. Recently, the Rainsfords celebrated the completion of a major renovation and expansion project at their original shop in Greenville.
