Platform at Greer Launches Mentoring Cohort 2

GREER, S.C. – The Platform at Greer, an entrepreneurial program of Greer Development Corporation, is announcing Cohort 2 of our Mentoring program for business leaders. A group of six entrepreneurs and small business owners have been matched with Mentors. The participants will receive personalized mentoring over 6 months with their mentors sharing advice on business challenges in an informal setting to provide a different perspective on issues that may seem overwhelming to newer entrepreneurs.

Mentoring Cohort 2 includes the following Mentors: Debra Day, SVP, Director of Mortgage Compliance and Quality Control at United Community Bank; Kenneth Fields, BlueInc Strategies co-founder; Bianca Hogan, Global Customer Experience Manager for Michelin; Kim Kegler, Global Brand Strategy Leader for Michelin; and David Squibb, President of Covenir.

Mentoring Cohort 2 participants include: Olga Diana, Realtor; Ron Hamlin, owner of Virtual Reload; Jason and Tara Massey, owners of Dove Light Photography; Larry McKeithen, co-founder of Falcodrin; and Clay Walters, owner of The accessABLE Brand.

Kenneth Fields of BlueInc Strategies and a mentor for both Cohorts 1 and 2 stated, “The Platform at Greer mentoring opportunity is an excellent way to give back to growing entrepreneurs. It’s amazing to witness the personal growth people experience with such a small investment of my time.”

Greer Development Corporation Executive Director, Reno Deaton, stated, “Mentoring provides a unique opportunity for entrepreneurs and innovators to work on a set of skills apart from the traditional functions of their business. Both mentors and mentees benefit from the relationship, consistent guidance, and access to new resources and tools. It is important that the Platform at Greer embraces every opportunity for entrepreneurs and innovators to grow because it will make our individual entrepreneurs more successful, it will broaden our relationships with our corporate partners, and it will make our entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem stronger.”

The Platform at Greer, launched in 2019, continuously innovates ways to build a culture of entrepreneurship in Greer. Our programs include the Business/Entrepreneur Bootcamp, Business Huddle, Summit, IGNITE Greer, and Mentoring. The overarching goal of The Platform at Greer programs is to provide support for business growth to both entrepreneurs and businesses seeking to reach the next level of growth. This is achieved by matching Big and Small – volunteers from big corporations (including BMW, Michelin, and Sage Automotive Interiors) with the entrepreneurs and businesses seeking to grow through the different formats our programs provide.  To apply for The Platform at Greer’s October Bootcamp, visit https://theplatformatgreer.com/ova_dep/apply-now/.
